Mangrove forests protect shrimp ponds in the Pangpang Bay area on the east coast of East Java in Indonesia. Locals are working with the government, research organizations, and non-profits to restore and protect the mangroves in ways that allow communities to improve their livelihoods and maintain traditional uses of the land.
